Welcome to Litterboxd. By using our mobile application and services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Litterboxd, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

Litterboxd is a mobile application that allows users to log, rate, and share encounters with cats. Users can create reviews with photos and locations, follow other users, and discover cat sightings in their community.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of Litterboxd, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be at least 13 years of age

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post to Litterboxd. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with our services.

You are solely responsible for your content and agree not to post:

• Content that violates any law or infringes on others' rights
• Harassment, hate speech, or content promoting violence
• Spam, advertisements, or misleading content
• Sexually explicit or inappropriate material
• Content depicting animal abuse or cruelty
• Personal information of others without consent
• Content that impersonates others or is intentionally deceptive

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate our policies.

5. Content Moderation

We use automated systems and human review to moderate content. Content may be reviewed, flagged, or removed if it violates our guidelines. We strive to enforce our policies fairly but are not obligated to monitor all content.

6. Privacy and Data

Your use of Litterboxd is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

7. Intellectual Property

Litterboxd and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Use automated systems to access the service without permission
• Collect user information without consent
• Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.

10. Disclaimers

Litterboxd is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-generated content, including locations or descriptions of cat encounters. Use your judgment when interacting with content or meeting cats in unfamiliar locations.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Litterboxd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the jurisdiction where we are located.
